Who Are We

Corporate Structure and Governance

Health Promotion Advocates is a group of committed individuals who have formed an advocacy group to integrate health promotion concepts into national health policy. Our legislative priorities are to pass Heath Promotion FIRST Act (S.1001 & H.R.2354 in the 111th Congress) and Healthy Workforce Act (S.803 & H.R.1897).

Management

Our organizing work is executed by four standing committees and supported by contributions from organizations and individuals who support our vision to promote healthy lifestyles among all Americans and thereby reduce medical costs and utilization, improve quality of life, and enhance productivity.

Advocacy Work

Our legislative advocacy work is performed by committee members, a coalition of organizations who support the Senator Lugar's Health Promotion FIRST ACT and Senator Harkin's Healthy Workforce ACT and a network of about 800 grassroots advocates.

Collaborating Organizations

Our overall efforts are endorsed by a larger group of employers, health care organizations, health promotion providers, educational organizations and advocacy groups we refer to as collaborators. An updated list of collaborators will appear soon.
